Are you planning on attending THON? Please read this blog below to learn about their new Digital Line Management System! There is also important information about the weekend and the event center. You can learn more here.
Digital Line Management System:
A Digital Line Management System will be used to minimize waiting outside in order to enter the Bryce Jordan Center. Spectators will be given a coded bracelet that gives them a place and number in a digital queue.
Spectators will be able to enter the BJC once their number is announced, and will also be able to wait for their number to be called in a safe place that is most convenient for them, instead of outside.
All spectators in the BJC will have a digitally coded bracelet.
After initial entry, spectators can receive these via the Will Call area throughout THON Weekend.
Spectators will be allowed in via Gate A only.
Spectators can exit via Gates A, B or C, but need to be scanned out by a Rules & Regulations Committee Member.
Once you have left the building, your current bracelet is no longer valid and you must obtain a new one if you wish to reenter the building at a later time.
When the BJC is full:
As the BJC reaches capacity, we will close the doors to spectators.
At this time, a digital queue will begin, based on the number listed on your bracelet.
The first person not able to enter the building at the current time will be first in the digital line, with all numbers following sequentially.
As spectators exit and space in the building becomes available, spectators will be called back based on this line.
Each hour on the hour, THON will release information regarding space in the building.
If spectators are allowed entry, you will see a range of numbers (based on your bracelet) being allowed access. Only numbers in this sequence will be allowed entry.
Numbers in the given sequence will have 45 minutes to return to the BJC and gain entry.
Anyone returning after 45 minutes will be turned away and need to obtain a new bracelet.
There are several ways to find out what numbers are currently being let into the BJC.
THON will update thon.org/THONWeekendUpdate with information regarding valid ranges.
THON’s social media accounts will release the ranges as well.
When Pegula is open, there will be live announcements made as the ranges are released.

The Pegula Ice Arena will be used in partnership with the Digital Line Management System as an auxiliary viewing area THON Weekend.
Pegula will be opened during designated times THON Weekend. Spectators will be notified via the same outlets as listed for the Digital Line Management System when Pegula is opening.
All those waiting in the digital line will be able to utilize this area until their number becomes valid, if Pegula is open at that time.
THON will be following the Bryce Jordan Center’s bag policy guidelines.
Spectators may bring in small purses, fanny packs, drawstring bags, and medical bags, all of which are subject to inspection.
Large bags, backpacks, totes, or coolers will not be permitted inside the facility.
A video with this information and a demonstration of the protocol for entering and exiting the Bryce Jordan Center can be found here.

Dec. 20, 2013
There are just 63 days until THON Weekend 2014! The Executive Committee has been working closely with the Bryce Jordan Center staff to make improvements to THON Weekend that ensure both the safety and enjoyment of our families, dancers and spectators.
While the exact details of these plans are still in the process of being finalized, the following is a brief overview of updates for THON Weekend this year.
The Pegula Ice Arena will be used as an auxiliary viewing area during designated parts of the weekend.
There will be a set time during the weekend that will allow each dancer to have two individuals visit them in a designated area within the BJC, even if they were not previously in the building.
THON will be following the Bryce Jordan Center’s bag policy for events. This means spectators may bring in small purses, fanny packs, drawstring bags, diaper bags, and medical bags, all of which are subject to inspection. Large bags, backpacks, totes, or coolers will not be permitted inside the facility.
More specific details will be shared closer to THON Weekend. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please contact Public Relations Director, Dana Giacobello, at public.relations@thon.org or Rules and Regulations Director, Janine Patton, at rules.regulations@thon.org.

Are you sick of drying many loads of clothes in the dryer? There are
some great benefits in air drying your clothes in the winter. It adds
moisture to the air, which can help with the dry air in your home.
There are other great benefits too. Keep reading and check out apartment therapy.
Air drying reduces static cling that can be really, really, bad in the dry winter air. No need for chemical fabric softeners.
Air drying introduces moisture into the air, which is much needed during the dry winter months.
I find that air drying in the winter can actually be quicker than
running a load in the dryer. The dryer traps moisture inside and can
take forever. Towels, especially, can benefit from an air drying and
then a quick fluff on tumble dry to soften them up.
If you're sold, these are five collapsible racks
that I love. I just received the second one as a gift and use it
constantly:
You are home alone, but you still want something sweet around the holidays. Check out these single serve cookie recipes from The Kitchn. These are great when you are having a craving for sweets.
You know the feeling: it's late at night, you have the place to
yourself, and you just want something sweet. But just a little
something. You don't want to make an entire cake, or a dozen cookies, or
anything that you'll be tempted to eat the entire thing. Instead of
busting out a pint of ice cream or a candy bar, treat yourself! Make one
of these single-serve warm, gooey homemade cookies.
Yes, of course you could just prepare the whole batch and just
freeze the rest of the dough if you have that kind of self-restraint.
If, however, you just have one egg or you know yourself well enough that
you couldn't resist making the whole batch, these recipes are here to
help.
